The above course will be held on
Monday 7 September 2009
10.00am-3.00pm at the
BCVS Dukeries
Centre, in Worksop.
There is limited free car parking and the Centre is fully accessible.
The course cost is will be £40.00 which includes a simple buffet lunch.
This is a one day course is aimed at people who already have a knowledge
and understanding of basic counselling skills. Building on any previous
learning, the course aims to introduce participants to the Three Stage
model of counselling.
Although the course will not give participants a qualification in
counselling, it would provide a useful grounding in a very practical and
workable approach. This model could prove helpful in a variety of
settings, such as management, support and supervision of staff,
community work, project work, individual client work, support work etc.
Course Content:
- Introducing the Three Stage Model approach to counselling
- Skills practice appropriate to all three stages of this approach
- Understanding typical resistance behaviours
- Life Stages – and likely impact on an individual
- Defence Mechanisms
- Focus on ‘change work’
- Ethics and Good Practice
- Supervision and Support
