BCVS - Introduction to Drugs Awareness for Organisations - Tuesday 26 January 2010 - 10.00am-3.00pm

The above course will be held on Tuesday 26 January 2010 at the BCVS Dukeries Centre, in Worksop, from 10.00am-3.00pm.
There is limited free car parking and the Centre is fully accessible.
The course fee is £10.00 which includes a simple buffet lunch.

The Trainer will be Ruth Saunders, of Let's Build. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in relation to the development and delivery of substance misuse training. Ruth has worked in this area for several years.

This course has been designed as an introductory course for people who wish to develop their awareness and understanding of substance misuse issues.

Aims:

  • To explore attitudes and perceptions in relation to drug use and drug users
  • Enhance knowledge of the effects and risks of psychoactive substances
  • Increase knowledge of some of the indicators/consequences of drug use
  • To understand the role of harm reduction and how it is used in practice
  • To provide an overview of UK drug law , and how it impacts on individuals and organisations
  • To provide information about the help available locally
