The above course will be held on Wednesday 28 April 2009 at the
BCVS Dukeries
Centre, in Worksop, from 10.00am -3.00pm.
There is limited free car parking and the Centre is fully accessible.
The course cost is will be £35.00 which includes a simple buffet lunch.
This one-day participatory course is for workers from any organisation
with little or no knowledge and wanting to learn more about LGB issues.
The day will:
• explore some of the historical attitudes and assumptions surrounding
LGB people – separating fact from fiction
• discuss attitudes, stereotypes and homophobia
• begin to look at ways of working in a more inclusive way.
Shirley Macredie will deliver the day and is an experienced trainer in
this field. The training will be participatory with work in pairs and
small groups. The trainer always aims to create a safe and supportive
training environment in which views and opinions can be shared in
safety.
