About Us

Green Generation is an initiative that aims to engage young people in volunteering to support BCVS’s wider aim of developing a sustainable, inclusive and healthy voluntary and community sector in Bolsover.

The project will identify, reach and engage young people aged 18 – 25 in volunteering with a particular focus on increasing confidence, aspirations and green skills.

We really want to work with, and support existing voluntary and community groups to host volunteering opportunities with an environmental focus, as well as supporting the development of new groups.

Why get involved?

This is a partnership project in conjunction with the Bolsover community which will increase pride and positivity, enhance local green spaces and the community bond in our district.

If you are a community or voluntary group in Bolsover, we can offer guidance and support on all aspects of hosting and managing volunteering opportunities, as well as working with you to overcome any barriers to volunteering.

If you are a local young person, Green Generation could help to improve your confidence and environmental knowledge, increase your interpersonal skills, social connections and even employability.

How to get involved

We want to hear from

  • Community or voluntary groups that would like host young volunteers or have a ‘green idea’.
  • Young people aged 18-25 who are interested in the environment and/or the local community.
  • Individuals that are interested in starting a group or have a ‘green idea’.

Pop us an email at greengeneration@bcvs.org.uk - we can’t wait to work with you!

Meet the team

Katie

I’m Katie, the Green Generation Project Manager at BCVS. Since I joined the team, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with some community groups already and we have some exciting plans of how to take the project forward – I’m looking forward to meeting more of you in the coming months.

Clare

Clare is the Green Generation Volunteer Coordinator and will be managing the onboarding and development needs of volunteers throughout the project and can support community and voluntary groups with their volunteer management.

We’ve both worked in the charity sector and with volunteers previously and are excited to get more involved in the Bolsover community!
