Aimed at: Adults 18+
Eden Futures supports people aged 18 and over who have learning disabilities, enduring mental ill health, autism and associated complex behavioural needs. We have worked for over 25 years with commissioning teams across England, engaging with them to provide innovative, community based supported living services for vulnerable people.

Learning disability support
Supporting people with a learning disability is the foundation of our service. Through years of experience, our staff team has a wealth of knowledge to call on when responding to the needs of all the individuals we care for. 43% of the individuals we support have a learning disability.

We support people with learning disabilities to live where they want, how they want and to have choice over who supports them. We enable people to develop and maintain master new skills and increase independence

Mental health needs
We support people with a range of mental health needs, including psychosis, bi-polar conditions, personality disorders, depression and anxiety-related issues. Approximately 30% of the people we support have a diagnosed mental illness.

Using person-centred recovery and support models in conjunction with the support of our expert multi-disciplinary team and local mental health services, we promote positive mental health and enable individuals to live as independently as possible. Over the past two-years, we have supported Individuals with complex needs that include mental ill health to leave hospital and become independent in the community, working in-line with local and national strategies including No Health without Mental Health and the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health. Our Behaviour Support Team completes assessments with individuals with mental ill health, overseen by our Mental Health Lead. Any bespoke specialist training required is sourced and provided to the staff teams working with these individuals, such as training around specific mental ill health disorders.

Autism
We have a proven track record of providing flexible, creative solutions in supporting people with an autism spectrum diagnosis. Our Autism Strategy outlines aims to deliver exceptional autism specific support, enhancing the quality of life for individuals.

Undertaking an individual autism specific assessment ensures we understand who the person is, how they are affected by their condition, as well as recognising their needs and wants, to allow us to provide person-led support.

All staff members, including non-operational staff, must complete annual training on autism. The training provides a foundation and basic understanding, learning about the spectrum and how it affects people in different ways. For staff members supporting those with autism, specific training is provided once the initial assessment is completed to ensure the support provided is tailored to needs and requirements. This includes any communication requirements, sensory needs and how to manage challenging behaviour. Every person is recognised as an individual with differing needs and the starting assumption is one independence as opposed to dependence. Each person is supported to maximise their impendence with the opportunity to act and think without reference to another person. This includes a willingness to incur an acceptable, safe and appropriate degree of risk.

Care is delivered to meet the needs of the individual and is supported by 24-hour on-call assistance should needs change.
