Community Wheels are based at Gainsborough House in Parnell Street.
Community Wheels have been working hard during the last year to offer assistance to individuals without transport who have medical appointments to attend. For a very modest charge they will transport clients to medical centres and wait for them and return them home. They have recognised a real need to be able to offer this same service to people with wheelchairs and mobility scooters and to this end are raising funds to purchase an ex-mobility vehilce which can carry both passengers and their aids. Gainsborough Community Wheels are still up and running and resumed full service back in July following the end of the first lockdown. We are here to help - if you need help with your medical appointments give us a call!
The Community Transport Scheme aims to offer a reliable, friendly and reasonably priced service to anyone who struggles to access public transport.
Our charging rate is £4 for any journey up to 8 miles and 50p per mile thereafter.
We offer:

* Door to door service
* Reliability assured

FANCY A SPOT OF VOLUNTEERING?
We urgently need volunteer drivers who would like to help in their community. If you have a few hours to spare, either daily, weekly or monthly, we would love to hear from you.
If you would like to do something worthwhile and you enjoy meeting people, this could be the type of volunteer work that will suit you.
You use your own car and we reimburse your out of pocket expenses. No special insurance is required, we just need to do a few checks to ensure that our drivers and passengers are part of a safe, professional service.
