Volunteering opportunity

Citizens Advice North East Derbyshire are looking to recruit for new Volunteer Advisers to be based in Clay Cross, Chesterfield.

All kinds of people volunteer with us for a variety of reasons but what unites them all is that they find it challenging, rewarding and varied. We particularly welcome applications from disabled people, people with physical or mental health conditions, LGBT+ and non-binary people, and people from Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.

We provide full training and pay expenses.

You don’t need to have any previous experience or qualifications. We are looking for people who have a willingness to learn and undertake training, are friendly and approachable, be non-judgemental, good literacy and numeracy skills and to be able to understand information and explain it to others.

As a Volunteer Adviser you will make a real difference to people’s lives have a positive impact in your community. You will be part of a friendly supportive team who will support you to learn a range of issues as benefits, debt, employment and housing. The experience will build on valuable skills such as communication, listening and problem solving, and increase your employability.

Ideally we ask for 4 hours per week for at least 12 months but we can be flexible on this. If you are interested in becoming an adviser and would like to discuss flexibility around location, time, ‘what you will do’ and how we can support you please see our website for further information.
