High Importance Announcement

Derbyshire County Council are pleased to announce that we have appointed StreetGames to become the Programme Manager Organisation for the Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF)

Since 2018, StreetGames have played an integral role in the DfE’s Holiday Activity and Food Programme, firstly as part of the pilot programmes delivering the very successful ‘Newcastle’s Best Summer Ever’ and since that first pilot have continued their role in Newcastle as well as increasing their support to Birmingham co-ordinating ‘Bring it on Brum’ and the Lancashire HAF programme.

As well as co-ordinating the HAF programmes on behalf of Local Authorities, at StreetGames they have supported a large number of other areas through bespoke support, grants system and our training offer.

With the level of experience and knowledge StreetGames can bring the Derbyshire HAF, we are confident that they will be able to make the programme a successful one for the children and young people of the county.

Summer 2022 Grant Funding Round will open on Monday 30 May. Below you will find the information you need to be able to submit your application for your planned holiday provision. StreetGames are also hosting some webinar sessions where they will be able to give more information about the programme, how to use the grant management system, and to introduce themselves.

Derbyshire HAF 2022 Delivery Guidance

The Derbyshire HAF 2022 Delivery Guidance document provides information for organisations wishing to deliver the Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) in Derbyshire. This guidance has been developed by combining the Department for Education guidance for Local Authorities with local detail specific to the Derbyshire programme.

It is important you take time to read through the guidance document before planning your programme and starting a grant application.

The Derbyshire HAF’s ‘It’s about me!’ remains a programme aimed at engaging children and young people eligible for benefits-related free school meals. Alongside ensuring every child receives a healthy meal, access to physical and enriching activities; organisations must also provide daily nutritional education, a food education session for families and be able to signpost families to relevant local services.

If there is anything in the guidance document you do not understand, or if you would like to discuss your plans ahead of starting a grant application, contact the programme team (contact details below).
