Request for Proposals
You may have already seen the request which was sent out at the beginning of the month in which we invite proposals to carry out a piece of work relating to the use of language in Bolsover District. As a reminder, or just in case you missed it, I have attached the request to this email.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 8th September 2023 and they can be emailed to myself using the address below. I would be happy to answer any questions or queries people may have, and would welcome a conversation with interested parties ahead of making a submission.
Working towards your vision
Local partners continue to come together around the Vision for Aspiration in Bolsover District and if you would like any more information or to be involved, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
As a reminder, the vision is:
'For every citizen in Bolsover District to have the aspiration to be the best version of themselves; stretch what they believe is possible; and have access to the right knowledge and support to achieve their ambitions'
I am always delighted to speak with new people and explore new opportunities within Bolsover District.

The Power of Hope
I recently attended a workshop with colleagues from What Works Wellbeing and I will be looking to connect with them some more in the future. They told me about this online event in November which looks particularly interesting and relevant to our work in Bolsover:
The Power of Hope: In conversation with Carol Graham Join wellbeing expert, economist and author to explore shifting the dial from post-covid recovery to an optimistic future. |
Please have a look and register if you are interested.
Learning and Evaluation Workshop
As our work around Aspiration in Bolsover District is developing, it feels like we’re approaching a good time to start putting some shape on the difference we want to make in the longer term, and what we want to learn along the way. The Lloyds Bank Foundation are working with a learning partner, Brightpurpose, who can support us in developing our own learning and evaluation plans. This will help us to define, measure and celebrate the difference we make, and help us learn together about what it takes to make deep and lasting change in Bolsover District.
I’ve been communicating with local stakeholders about when we could come together in Bolsover District for a learning and evaluation workshop with Brightpurpouse, and have agreed on the date of Tuesday 28th November 2023. It will be an afternoon session, and will give us space to define and agree our longer-term goals and think about how we can learn and measure progress along the way. We'd really welcome wider involvement in the workshop, and will be providing further details and information about how to get involved soon.
