Dementia Friendly Film Screening of The Borrowers
Mansfield Central Library are delighted to be hosting a series of dementia friendly screenings of classic films and musicals.
A secret family of four-inch people living inside the walls of a house must save their home from an evil real estate developer.
These relaxed screenings are particularly suitable for people living with dementia and memory challenges, their family and friends but anyone is welcome. Please feel free to talk, sing and move during the screening.
Doors will open 20 minutes before the screening and there will be a 20 minute interval. We will be sensitive to the audience when it comes to lighting and volume in the auditorium. A quiet room for anyone needing a brief break from the film will be available just outside the auditorium and toilets including an accessible toilet are also just outside the auditorium door.

National Loneliness Campaigns:
Yvonne Gregory (Community Development Officer for Rushcliffe and Broxtowe) has spoken with us about getting on board with the national loneliness campaigns. (You beat me to it Yvonne!) She shares details below. It will be discussed as part of our next TLC meeting in May.
Hello everyone,
I know that June is some time away but I would just like to bring it onto your radar as there are two campaigns running in June, would you sign up to one and create an event?
21st – 23rd June – the great get together : https://www.jocoxfoundation.org/our-work/stronger-communities/great-get-together/
10th – 16th June – Loneliness awareness week: https://www.marmaladetrust.org/law
Both great campaigns. Read through the information, what could your group or organisation do to support helping reduce loneliness and isolation in communities, it could be just a small event that could help creating awareness out there.
Need some support with your idea in the Rushcliffe or Broxtowe area, then contact ygregory@rushcliffecvs.org.uk
Please let us know if you do sign up to do an event
Thanks Yvonne for sharing this!
