Walk Hopes to Reach Milestone of £250,000 Raised
I wondered if you might be interested enough in this event to run a piece to help celebrate, promote it, or attract applications to walk.
The Louise Smalley Challenge Walk is a 40 mile (and a bit) award winning challenge walk in aid of local charitable and good causes It is organised by the community of Whitwell in North Derbyshire in the name of Louise Smalley, who tragically lost her fight against illnesses at a very tender age. So far the walk has raised nearly £235,000, last year's beneficiary, Neurocare (Sheffield) had nearly 100 walkers raise a fantastic £15,000
This year the walk is in aid of Ashgate Hospice (Chesterfield) and it is hoped the quarter of a million pounds raised milestone can be reached.
There are a number of routes in the walk portfolio all which end in Whitwell, this year’s route is the Heritage Route based around local heritage and attractions. The walk takes place on Saturday June 18th 2022, starts in Whitwell and takes in Bolsover Castle, Sutton Scarsdale Hall, Hardwick Hall, The Welbeck estate and Creswell Crags.
Application to walk deadline is May 31st.
