NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN STEERING GROUP LOOKING FOR INPUT FROM THE GRANGE ESTATE AND FOX COVERT LANE
Misterton's Neighbourhood Plan was adopted following a village-wide referendum in 2019. Now planning applications for the five designated sites are coming in. With two sites next to each other off the Grange estate and on Fox Covert Lane, the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group is looking for members from this area to help give a residents' perspective on some of the detail of the sites' layout.
This is not an opportunity to revisit the site allocations - but it is an opportunity to have a say on the detail within those sites. If interested, the Steering Group usually meets during the daytime (sometimes online) about once a month. But the timing of meetings can be discussed with anyone wishing to be involved. For more information or to get involved, contact the Parish Clerk, Angela Harrison, at theclerk@misterton-notts-pc.gov.uk or ring 890870 or 01909 239 911.

BASSETLAW ACTION CENTRE: SERVICES OPEN
Bassetlaw Action Centre’s office is open for enquiries from 9.00am to 1.00pm (with an answerphone outside of these times). BAC is continuing to provide:
- community transport for essential journeys – health appointments and shopping, for example
- Befriending and Housing Advice services, which are telephone-based
- the Staying Well Programme (6-week self-management course for people with a long-term condition) will be delivered through Zoom
- the Get Out Get Active (GOGA) service encourages people to become more active and will continue to offer one-to-one support (but no group activities, unfortunately – they are temporarily suspended)
- Home Support service – a domiciliary service to help people who are just starting to struggle at home (this is a paid-for service).
BAC would like to hear from anyone with a few hours to spare, who would like to volunteer to support the Action Centre to deliver essential services to local older and vulnerable people.
BAC’s priority is to stop the spread of the virus and to encourage people to stay at home, wherever possible. Staff encourage anyone needing any help or at risk of social isolation to contact them on 01777 709650 or by e-mail (enquiries@actioncentre.org.uk) as they are working with a range of key partners to provide help and support where needed. Further information can be found on the website: www.bassetlawactioncentre.org.uk.

WEST STOCKWITH NEWS
Thursday 5 May 2022
Contact: 01427 891376
CHURCH HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING
West Stockwith Parish Church held its Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) this month (Tuesday 3 May) and Stephanie Baines was elected unopposed as Churchwarden. Margery Tucker was elected to the Parochial Church Council (PCC) with Jonathan Downes co-opted as Treasurer until a replacement is found. There were new additions to the Electoral Roll – the list of the Church’s ‘supporters’ – bringing the total to eight. A full revision of the Electoral Roll is due in 2025.
The Parish Church receives just £165 a month in regular giving from residents, which is insufficient to cover expenditure. So fund-raising events are essential to help cover costs. Two bids for grants have been submitted to pay for repairs to the roof.
PARISH COUNCIL HAS VACANCIES
West Stockwith has vacancies for councillors. If you have an interest in the village and would like to play a part in its future, get in touch with the Clerk to the Parish Council on 890294 or e-mail WestStockwithPC@outlook.com
