National Cancer Patient Experience Survey Communication Toolkit"

1st November

The National Cancer Patient Experience Survey (NCPES) asks for feedback from cancer patients (16 years and over), to inform and improve local cancer services across England. Those who were treated for cancer as an inpatient or day-case, and left hospital in April, May or June 2024, will be invited to take part in the survey from 15 November 2024.

The NHS and cancer charities use the results to understand what is working well and which areas need improvement. The results enable them to identify national and local priorities and work with patients and partners to deliver change. For more information on the survey, please visit www.ncpes.co.uk.

We would be very grateful if you could raise awareness of the survey with your contacts and communities and encourage as many people as possible to complete and return the survey if they are invited to take part. Please use the communications resources to help support the campaign including a detailed communications toolkit, suggested messaging, posters, social cards, videos and infographics that you can use in your own communications.

Research carried out as part of the NCPES has shown that certain demographic groups are consistently less likely to respond to the survey, including young people and some ethnic minority groups. We also have a video that can be used to encourage groups we hear less from to participate in the survey to help shape cancer services: https://youtu.be/JXH0NkptZDg and social media clips are also available to download.
