WHAT IS NATIONAL SELF HARM AWARENESS DAY?
Each year around the world, 1st March is Self Harm Awareness Day (sometimes also known as Self Injury Awareness Day). In the UK, it is an opportunity for everyone across the country to speak with one voice to raise awareness around what is often a very misunderstood topic.
Partners and individuals from outside of the sector are also encouraged to get involved to help spread the message as widely as possible, particularly across social media where we encourage the use of the hashtag #SelfHarmAwarenessDay
HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
We would like as many organisations as possible in Bassetlaw to recognise Self Harm Awareness Day. You don’t need to be involved in mental health or the wider healthcare sector – in fact, we encourage participation with as diverse a range of organisations and individuals as possible. Harmless have a media pack that we have shared the link to below and we have also included some social media graphics below, to show that there is lots of support available in Bassetlaw.
Printing off a poster to put up at your workplace or sharing your support on social media all help to get the message out to a wider audience. |

Once approved by all partners, we are also launching the new mental health posters as soon as possible for you to print and share in your organisations. If you have received an email to check your information for these, please let us know any changes you need including. |
