NNICB VCSE Alliance Meeting November 2024

8th November

Positive meeting held with follow up workshop to take place on 13th November.   Please see information below on background to the Alliance and how to join if appropriate:

Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Alliance - NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICS - NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICS (healthandcarenotts.co.uk)

Agenda setting and representation was presented by Prema Nirgud, NNICB Head of Insights and Engagement, which was discussed in detail by members.  It was agreed that this would be more inclusive and take place earlier moving forwards.   There was also agreement that mapping the new structure of the ICS and VCSE representation and gaps from across the sector and system would be useful to members.

Minutes and presentations should be posted on the above link a week after each meeting moving forwards which will be helpful.

Naomi Robinson, Senior Joint Commissioning Manager, NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group, presented on the process and product of the 3rd Sector Commissioning Group and the draft principles and framework that have been developed with input from NHT colleagues, Daniel King, as Chair of the NNICB VCSE Alliance, BCVS, MCVS and NCVS over the last year  - a lot of positive feedback given in the meeting and it is now moving into test phase.

Andria Birch, BCVS CEO feedback that she is the VCSE representative on the Frailty Programme Board (FPB) and will feedback through the VCSE Alliance and Nottinghamshire Together – early days but seems to be a bold and positive space to do things differently .   FPB ‘Objective & Context:   Maintaining independence for as long as possible in one's own home, increasing healthy life years, improving personalised care whilst achieving cost efficiencies and savings for the system.’

Andria also attended the Nottinghamshire Health and Wellbeing Board workshop and fed back that the board is in refresh/reset stage and appears open to wider VCSE involvement.  Useful data was shared in the workshops and when the session report is published this will be shared with wider stakeholders.   In addition Andria noted that she has been contacted by NCC which is refreshing the VCSE Compact.
