Healthwatch Nottinghamshire – 2 surveys

Do you or someone you know get help from a care agency with eating or drinking at home?

Does the person receiving care live in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire?

Is this care paid for by the Council?  / Is the person aged over 75?

If so, we would like to hear from you.

We want to understand if people’s basic needs (food and drink) are being met through this type of care.

We are really interested to hear your stories and invite you to join us for an online group discussion to share them.

This session will take place on Thursday 24th February 2022 at 11am on Zoom.

To find out more or to take part, contact Evelina on 07305 112641 or email info@hwnn.co.uk

If you can’t participate at that time or over Zoom, do let us know if you would be interested in talking to us at a later date over the telephone about the same issues.

Healthwatch are carrying out this work to find out about the experiences of people who receive help with food and drink at home. We would very much like to hear your experiences of getting this help to find out how care agencies can improve the care that is paid for by The Council.

Do you live in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire? WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
Have you tried to access care at your GP practice in the last 12 months?
Do you have 5 minutes to share feedback about how easy or difficult this was?

Healthwatch is asking people across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to take part in their 'Hot Topic' survey to better understand experiences of accessing care at GP practices during the pandemic.

The short survey is open to anyone in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire who has contacted their GP in the last 12 months.
It should only take a few minutes to complete and the information shared will help to build an understanding of where things have worked well and where things could, or should, be improved.

The survey can be accessed by visiting. https://wh1.snapsurveys.com/s.asp?k=164181627916&s=team

This new, professionally-produced work is based on research into home care for people with dementia.  We are extending 100 complimentary seats to family carers and people who work in direct care.  Anyone wishing to apply for one of these should email beckymatter1@gmail.com before the end of February.  I think that many of you will also find this opera enjoyable.  With its chorus of real-life carers, four principal singers and an orchestra of students alongside professional players, it promises a moving and thought-provoking experience.  There are only two performances, and tickets are selling fast, so please do book yours soon.

Trent Bridge Community Trust update on project developments in mental health and dementia and how you can get involved this year.

You may remember we deliver free mental health and dementia sessions in Nottingham City and Rushcliffe. Recently, we secured additional funding, so we’ll have even more capacity to deliver accessible, free, welcoming activities for people living with mental health problems and dementia. I’d like to ask you to help by spreading the word, either through your network of professional contacts or by telling potential beneficiaries about these projects.

Our team has many years’ experience of supporting our target group and has consistently developed how sports and physical activities can benefit people living with mental health problems and dementia. All sessions are led by coaches with many years’ experience of working with our target group meaning activities are high quality, safe and provide appropriate support.

Our projects are co-produced with beneficiaries and expert partners to ensure they’re engaging and relevant. Beneficiaries choose from a range of sports, physical activities, games, workshops and social activities in a relaxing environment - usually in a sports facility.

The format of sessions will vary from week to week but will be based on the needs of the group, their mobility, level of understanding and fitness levels. We’ll offer a range of ice-breaking and get to know you activities to reduce anxiety and help people feel welcomed.
