Radford Care Group – Dementia Information Programme in Mansfield
We are delighted to be able to offer another Dementia Information Programme in October / November 2022 in Mansfield. Booking is required.
Carers can refer themselves to the programme directly on info@radfordcaregroup.org.uk or by calling 0115 9786133.
We are able to provide respite care subject to suitability/assessment – the carer will need to discuss this when booking.
The programme is for 7 weeks and we aim to cover as many aspects about caring for someone with dementia as possible in order to help carers understand more about the condition. The programme is available to unpaid/family carers.

Dementia – Advanced Care Planning
Do you have a diagnosis of dementia? / Have you heard of Advance Care Planning?
Advance Care Planning is thinking about your wishes and priorities for yourself and your care. This can help to support you now and in the future if you are no longer able to make those decisions yourself.
It is about living for today and planning for tomorrow and can help to answer the question:
Who will speak for you if you can’t make your own health and care decisions?
It can include putting in place:
- • A record of your care preferences
- • A Lasting Power of Attorney
- • A record of your likes and dislikes
Advance Care Planning is different for everyone.
You might also want to consider having conversations about a ReSPECT (Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment) form or an Advance Decision to Refuse Treatment.
It is important to share this information with people you trust to speak on your behalf, and people who are, or will be, involved in your care.
Where can I find more information or support?
The Alzheimer’s Society also provides a translation service. Call the number and say the English word of the language you want
Trent Bridge Community Trust
Wanted to let you know about a short (40 minutes) virtual event we are planning to let local professionals and service users know more about our mental health and dementia work across Nottingham and Rushcliffe.
The event will take place on Tuesday 20th September at 2pm and will include background information about our mental health/dementia projects, our staff’s background/experience, as well as feedback from beneficiaries with lived experience, carers and academics with a research interest in this kind of work. If you would like to attend please register below:
Once we have final numbers for the online event we’ll send out a meeting link in advance of the date to enable you to attend.
