RAMPTON HOSPITAL BEFRIENDING SERVICE
At Rampton Hospital we welcome new enthusiastic volunteers to visit patients who have little or no contact with friends or family. We are continually striving to recruit more volunteer befrienders to match the various ethnicities and backgrounds of the patients.
Can you commit up to two hours per month to visit one of our many patients? Are you a good listener with a good general knowledge to hold an interesting conversation?
Do you have interests you could talk about and share with a patient? Would you be able to bring the outside in? If so we would love to hear from you.
All trainee volunteers have to attend 3 training days at the hospital to enable them to join the volunteer befrienders’ scheme and you will also need to complete a DBS check. Two satisfactory references will be sought. All Volunteers will have ongoing support from the Voluntary Services Staff throughout their time of being a Volunteer Befriender.
Personal mileage and public transport fares are reimbursed.
