20th September
Following on from the hugely successful event this year which attracted over 6,000 people, the Organising Committee are busily planning next year’s event which will have a core theme to mark the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War 2.
We have some returning members to the Committee who are covering some of the key tasks, but we are seeking volunteers to take on the following roles: -
Social media lead – to manage our social media output promoting the event on various social media platforms. Proactive person required who can produce good materials to promote the event and attract sponsorship.
Sponsorship lead – to lead our sponsorship campaign to fund the event which costs over £11,000 to put on. We have some revenue from trading activities and sponsorship from the local authorities however, we still need to raise considerably more funds to ensure the event is sustainable. We are seeking candidates who are experienced in fundraising, gaining sponsorship from private sector companies and grant making bodies.
Health and safety lead – to produce our health and safety documentation which must be extremely thorough for an event this size and is subject to scrutiny by the appropriate public bodies. Health and safety for the event is paramount given over 6,000 people usually attend.
If you want to take part in a great community event and can meet the requirements of the above lead roles, please contact the Organising Committee on retfordcharterday24@outlook.com to arrange a discussion with the Committee.
