Tackling Gambling related harm – Training

This training focusses on the state of play when it comes to gambling in the UK, its prevalence, harms and risk factors. It covers identifying those at risk, how to intervene appropriately in the short-term, and formulating action plans to ensure long-term recovery.

The training will help front line staff:

  • Understand the nature of & impacts of gambling harms within communities
  • Signpost affected individuals to sources of reliable information, support and advice
  • Learn how screening tools can be used to identify and establish whether an individual is at-risk of Gambling-Related Harm using the MECC conversation approach
  • Gain knowledge of specialist support that is available nationally/across Derbyshire to directly refer people towards
