Warm & Welcoming Spaces Funding - 2023/2024

15th November

Derbyshire County Council understands there are increasing concerns that vulnerable residents may find it increasingly difficult to heat their homes, and therefore the likely impact on physical and mental health over the up-and-coming months. In response to this, the Council has developed a Derbyshire Warm and Welcoming Spaces initiative. A Derbyshire Warm and Welcoming Space is a free and warm, space for people across Derbyshire who are struggling to heat their homes this winter.

Voluntary, community and charity organisations in Derbyshire can apply for a grant to set up warm and welcoming spaces this winter. The Derbyshire County Council Warm & Welcoming Spaces Grants Programme launched on 1st November and will run to the 31st March 2024.

Organisations can apply for up to £1,000 towards the cost of opening up community venues or to extend their opening hours during the colder months. The amount of grant funding awarded will be determined following assessment of eligibility criteria, consideration of the amount of hours that the warm and welcoming space will be open (especially at evenings and weekends), and the number of potential beneficiaries.
