World Suicide Prevention Day 2022

10th September is World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) 2022 and this year we again want to share the message that suicide prevention is everyone’s business, that is why we need your help.

Support us in promoting suicide prevention across Derby and Derbyshire and take part in the Zero Suicide Alliance FREE 20-minute free online E-Learning. https://www.zerosuicidealliance.com/training

This year there are lots of things happening around Derby and Derbyshire to promote that suicide prevention is everyone’s business.

  • The Last Photo Exhibition at The Hub on Low Pavements in Chesterfield from 5th to 10th September
  • Football matches at Alfreton (29th Aug), Belper (27th Sept), Chesterfield (10th Sept), Matlock (6th Sept) and Sheffield (13th Sept), plus a video being produced by Derby County FC
  • A stall at Derby Pride on 10th September
  • Public Living Room – drop-in opportunity The Hub on Low Pavements in Chesterfield on 10th September
  • Opportunity for people and organisations to develop their own scripted videos and messages
  • Social media images, posters and information for you to post and share
  • Other activities – please let us know about these and use #WSPDDerbyshire and @dccpublichealth

We have put together a toolkit of resources to help provide information around suicide prevention. This includes social media images and status, posters, and more information about what is going off across the area.
