Supported Hospital Discharge Service Volunteer

Opportunity Description: This service provides support to people who have recently been discharged from hospital in Nottinghamshire and have little or no support system.

Who we are looking for: Volunteers may support these people by doing safe and well checks over the phone or in person, light domestic duties around the home such as vacuuming or putting a wash on, or collecting shopping or a prescription. Any amount of time you can offer is much appreciated.
Requirements: Will require a Criminal Record Check (DBS), Driving License, Own vehicle or have access to a vehicle

Practical considerations: Support coordinators, based in the hospital, will match volunteers to people based on their location and availability. Legitimate volunteer expenses are paid in all roles on a monthly basis in line with HMRC guidelines. A small amount of paperwork needs to be submitted on a monthly basis and volunteers are provided with the necessary documents to support this.
