Opportunity Description: Sites: Bolsover Castle & Brodsworth Hall
Working alongside the North Event Team, you can take part in a range of different roles and activities to support event delivery, depending entirely on your interests and abilities. You will be part of a committed, fun and hard-working team, with access to a wide range of events, both big and small from all historic eras. All training will be provided; both in person and online.
Types of events: Falconry, Knights Tournament, Legendary Joust, Siege!, Fairy Hunters, Classic cars, Ghost Tales, Spooky Woodland Walk, Festive Fun & Father Christmas.
Core support:
Erecting Pop-Up’s for PA, Commercial outlets and shelter & shade requirements
Setting up arenas and Accessible & VIP viewing areas
Supporting arena safety during displays
Running/supporting other event activities i.e. kids areas & VIP member offers
Ensuring the site and event areas are clear and rubbish-free
Answering event queries and directing visitors
Supporting visitors with accessibility requirements
Offering event support to site operations i.e. ticket scanning
Range of Skills that can be developed:
Familiarisation with Event Health & Safety, including Event Management Plans and Risk Assessments
Understanding of working in heritage events, and the attendant restrictions
Supporting the siting of plant, facilities and performers
Considering animal welfare where they are used in displays i.e. Falconry
Working with and understanding the use of historic weaponry, including on occasion black powder and large artillery
Other opportunities:
Supporting evening/night-time events such as Ghost Tales
Getting involved in Member-exclusive events, sometimes at smaller / free sites nearby
