Aurora Wellbeing Volunteer - Multiple roles available!

Opportunity Description: The Aurora Wellbeing Centre Bassetlaw is a community centre specailising in support for people affected by cancer and long term health conditions. We have a dedicated team of friendly staff on hand and always happy to help. Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do at Aurora and we would not be able to deliver our services without them. We value the commitment, kindness and community created through working together with our volunteers to create opportunities for them to learn and develop skills whilst also supporting the important work Aurora does for the local community.
Our volunteer roles include:
- Retail (Working front of house in our charity shop or behind the scenes sorting our donations)
- Valerie's Tearoom Assistant
- Holistic or Beauty Therapist
- Befriending/cancer buddy service
- Heritage and Health Project (work alongside our team in the Heritage Hub)
- Administration
- Receptionist
- General Maintenance (regularly needed for our old building!)
- Cleaning

Who we are looking for: To become a volunteer all you need is enthusiasm and an interest in supporting us and the local community. Our volunteer opportunities are open to all and you decide how much or little time you can give - we are happy for you to work around your commitments. Your volunteer hours will fit within our opening hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm, with some occassional fundraising events outside these times.

Practical considerations: Our centre is fully accessible and we will do our best to accomodate any additional needs. If you want to help, we are happy to have you!

Disabled Access details: Our building is fully accessible with a ramp at the entrance and disabled toilet within.
Expenses details: Expenses for travel can be covered e.g for parking or bus transport
Any Age/Gender restrictions: Volunteers must be over 16.
Support for volunteers with additional needs: Yes we can accomodate any additional needs
Induction Arrangments: Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch to discuss your availability and what areas you are interested in after we have recieved your application form. Once your references have been verified we can move forward and invite you to join our team.
Insurance Cover: We have full public liability insurance
Support Available: The Aurora team of staff and volunteers are always happy to help and provide any support you may need.
Training: There are opportunities to undergo online training to gain qualifications for some of our volunteer roles
