The Cheapside Community Hub aims to bring residents together through interactive sessions focused on sustainability, health, and community connection. Each event will have morning and afternoon sessions, limited to 20 participants, ensuring meaningful interactions. Activities will include social cooking, sustainable gardening, DIY workshops, and nature-based adventures, offering hands-on learning and community building. With the help of volunteers, these events will raise engagement, promote new skills, and strengthen community bonds.
Summary
As a Sustainable Gardening Volunteer, you will play an active role in maintaining and developing our community garden in Cheapside Worksop while promoting sustainable gardening practices. This role involves hands-on gardening tasks, guiding others on environmental techniques, and supporting workshops and events focused on sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the upkeep and management of the plot, including planting, weeding, and composting.
• Educate and guide other volunteers and community members on sustainable gardening practices, such as water conservation, organic growing, and soil health.
• Support the delivery of workshops and events that promote environmental awareness and sustainable living.
• Help ensure the allotment plot remains an inclusive and welcoming space for all participants and the community
