Opportunity Description: We are looking for volunteers to join our welcome desk team at the Crossing church and center, on Newcastle street.
The role includes signing in group leaders, guiding visitors to their desired location, answering telephone calls and generally being helpful to those who use the church facilities.

Who we are looking for: We are looking for someone who is friendly and capable, works well with others and wants to be helpful.
Requirements: Will require a Criminal Record Check (DBS)

Practical considerations: All training will be provided. You will be working with a mentor, and we always try and maintain a level of two people on the welcome desk at all times. There will be an induction to the building, where you can familiarise yourself with the rooms and facilities on site. A DBS check will be done for all volunteers and is there is other training required this will also be done.

Disabled Access details: The site is full accessible, with a ramp at the front entrance and a lift to the first floor. There are also wide doorways and the space flows well for wheelchair users.
Expenses details: Travel expenses can be claimed
Any Age/Gender restrictions: Must be minimum 16 years of age and have finished standard full time education (GCSE level)
Support for volunteers with additional needs: Yes, if the role is suitable to the individual
Induction Arrangments: Every new volunteer receives an induction
Insurance Cover: The church has a comprehensive insurance policy
Support Available: There are mentors who are able to help support volunteers, you can also seek support from the volunteer coordinator and the safeguarding officer if necessary.
