Opportunity Description: EMAS currently provides Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services (NEPTS) in Derbyshire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire. The Volunteer Car Service is an integral and valued part of NEPTS, providing an invaluable service to the community for patients with a medical need for transport, and who would otherwise be unable to get to their appointments.
We are looking for volunteer drivers to use their own car to take patients to and from hospital appointments.

Who we are looking for: Basic requirements:
Be able to provide regular journeys for patients.
Have a car with valid MOT and kept in a good clean condition.
Be covered by full comprehensive insurance.
Have a valid and current driving licence (no more than three points).
Training will be provided and mileage will be paid.

Requirements: Will require a Criminal Record Check (DBS), Driving License, Own vehicle or have access to a vehicle

Expenses details: Validated mileage will be reimbursed. Uniform and personal protective equipment will be provided.
Support for volunteers with additional needs: Yes - Further coaching can be provided.
Induction Arrangments: Shortlisted candidate will be required to conduct basic training on patient care and some administrative tracking work to log and record the journey details via the personal digital assistant (PDA) provided.
Training: Training on patient care and use of personal digital assistant (PDA) will be provided.
Any Other Arrangements: Opportunity to meet other passionate volunteer car drivers who share the same values and enthusiasm.
