19th October
The aim of this Careers Fair is for jobseekers to find out about the local vacancies, training opportunities, careers, volunteering, apprenticeships and self-employment opportunities that are available.
It will be open to the public from 10am-3pm with set up available from 9am.
Ashfield District Council will be producing publicity flyers and promoting the event through digital platforms such as the website & social media pages. The Department for Work and Pensions will do the same for their claimants and will direct them to attend on the day. Local schools will be attending the event also.
There will be no cost involved for the exhibitors.
Answers to some FAQs’ are below-
- There will be a table and chair available for you and you will be allocated a stall. Please find your stall on a floor plan which will be sent to you after confirming your attendance.
- Dimensions of the tables are: 120cm long and 60cm wide.
- There is a café, toilets and break out area on the ground floor that you can use. Please just ensure your stall is occupied for the whole event.
- You can also use the breakout area to have confidential discussions with candidates
- The most appropriate car park for exhibitors would be on Lindley’s Lane, NG17 8AB. Once this car park is full then you can find other Kirkby in Ashfield parking options here . You can find public transport options here.
- The event will take place in the Sports Hall and there will be 100 stalls set up which can provide space for 100 exhibitors.
- We would suggest you enter via the fire exit at the back of Kirkby Leisure Centre which is on Lindley’s Lane. Alternatively you can come through the main entrance.
- You may want to bring banners, extra chairs, table coverings and any promotional/marketing materials or give always that you have available. Well-dressed tables always tend to attract attention.
- There are around 20 plug sockets around the perimeter of the sports hall. Please feel free to use these but ensure you bring your own extension leads/cable covers. It is recommended not to rely on this and please have your devises fully charged at the start of the event.
- There is an expectation that exhibitors will stay until the 3pm finish as claimants at the Department for Work and Pensions and students from local schools will be allocated time slots to help manage the flow.
