7th March
I am reaching out from Active Communities CIC, a community organisation committed to improving health, wellbeing, and social inclusion in Harworth & Bircotes.
In partnership with H&B Town Council, Harworth Colliery Football Club, and Harworth Group, we are excited to invite you to take part in the Harworth & Bircotes Wellbeing Weekender – a free community event designed to connect residents with essential health, wellbeing, and support services in an engaging and accessible way.
We would love for you to host a stall in our Local Marketplace, where you can promote your services, engage with the community, and offer valuable support to local residents.
Why Get Involved?
Reach Those in Need: Many residents are unaware of the vital support available—this is your chance to connect directly with them.
Promote Your Services: Raise awareness of your organisation and the work you do in a welcoming, community-focused environment.
Make an Impact: Help improve local health and wellbeing by ensuring people know where to turn for advice, support, and activities.
Network & Collaborate: Meet like-minded organisations, local groups, and potential partners to strengthen community ties.
Event Details
Date: Sat 14 June, 2025
Time: 11:00am-14:00pm (Arrivals and set up by 10:30am latest please)
Venue: Harworth Colliery Football Club, Scrooby Road, Bircotes, DN11 8JT
What You Need to Bring: Please provide any promotional materials, banners, leaflets, or interactive displays to engage visitors. We would also ask that due to the outdoor space, services can provide their own table/chairs/marquee if needed.
Why This Matters
Harworth & Bircotes is a growing community, but many residents face significant challenges that impact their wellbeing:
52% of residents live in areas of health deprivation, compared to a national average of 19.6%.
Over 84% experience economic hardship, making access to local services even more critical.
1 in 3 children grow up in low-income households, increasing the need for support networks.
This event aims to bridge the gap between services and the people who need them most. Your presence could make a real difference in improving community wellbeing.
