“There has been a lot happening this week with many people thinking about how we interact with other people – even in small ways!

At Bassetlaw Community and Voluntary Service 8 of us gathered and shared lunch for a little bit and made time in our day.”

More people added to the nibbles. It was simple, we re-used what we had where possible, it was lovely! (I am biased though!)

We have appointed a Web design company to start on the TLC Website! This week we’ve held two workshop meetings around the Friendly Connector social action concept and had great discussions. We’ve been posting and sharing information on social media too!  Find us here:  @TLCNotts on ‘X’ (Twitter) and Tackling Loneliness Collaborative on Facebook.

Many thanks, Kirsty

Items to follow:

Commissioning Community Champions: Lessons From A Pandemic | The King's Fund (kingsfund.org.uk)

  • Community champions are typically members of the community who volunteer to promote health and wellbeing or improve conditions in their local community. The community champion approach is one of many community-led approaches to improving health and wellbeing.

  • In 2023, The King’s Fund conducted a survey of local authority commissioners of community champions programmes in England to understand the breadth of commissioning approaches. In addition, we interviewed people involved in the commissioning and delivery of community champions programmes across 15 local authorities to understand local approaches to commissioning and learning.

Count on Us for... Olympic Fun! - Skegby Library - Family Learning Tickets, Mon 5 Aug 2024 at 14:00 | Eventbrite

Come and join us to celebrate the Paris Olympics in your local library this summer. We are putting on a series of FREE creative maths challenges for you and your child. There will be an opportunity to make, measure and model over 2-hours.

What will be covered on the course?

You and your child will use basic maths skills, linked to the primary curriculum, to make paper javelins, medals, the Eiffel Tower and Olympic themed maths games*. The sessions are informal and provide a fun way to introduce maths concepts. You will work with your child to measure, shape, cut and produce a maths challenge.

*activity will differ depending on library location
