GRANTS FOR MISTERTON STABLES (+ pic)

The future development of Grove House Stables in Misterton has been secured after receiving nearly £15k from Bassetlaw District Council’s Rural England Prosperity Fund, protecting rural jobs at the family-run equestrian centre. The funding paid for a brand-new surface for the indoor riding arena, benefiting the ponies, riders, and staff. of the people that are working in it. The new surface is more environmentally friendly as it needs less water to maintain. A further £5k decarbonisation grant has funded new energy efficiency lighting. Pictured viewing the improvements are (from left) Cllr Charles Adams, Cabinet Member for Business & Skills, Cllr Hazel Brand, who represents the Misterton Ward, and Andrew Stennett, proprietor of Grove House Stables.

The stables offer lessons in a supportive and inclusive environment and are accredited with the British Horse Society, Pony Club, and as a Riding for the Disabled Centre. The stables also look after rescue ponies, with five being cared for on site.
