PARISH COUNCIL ELECTS CHAIR

Misterton Parish Council re-elected Peter Marsden as Chair and Alex Bland as Vice-chair at its annual meeting last week (Tuesday 14 May). Membership of committees was agreed. It was also agreed to investigate the cost of CCTV on the Sports Ground after a spate of vandalism. The Council signed the biodiversity pledge and agreed that the Green Group, a joint initiative by Misterton and West Stockwith parish councils, should look into developing a biodiversity policy. Entry into the Best Kept Village Competition was discussed, with councillors agreeing to take responsibility for checking certain areas of the village. Other business included agreeing final plans for the D-Day commemorations on Thursday 6 June, and voting on nominations for Village Champions. Their awards will be presented on 6 June.

COUNCIL’S CONCERN AT STATE OF THE ROADS

Repair of our roads seems to be badly done and tarmacking and surface dressing not last long. Residents (and members) are asked to send in photos of poor repairs, following a lengthy debate at Misterton Parish Council’s annual meeting (Tuesday 14 May). These photos will be put together in a dossier and sent to the County Council portfolio holder with responsibility for highways. So send any evidence of poor repairs to the Parish Clerk at theclerk@misterton-notts-pc.gov.uk, indicating where the photo was taken.
