Information for Carers from other Service Providers:
Nottinghamshire County Council are currently reviewing how we provide day opportunities for people with care and support needs. As part of this review, we are exploring the merits of delivering more support in communities to help people to integrate with their local area, build natural support networks and live the lives they want to lead.
Over the past year, engagement activity has been carried out with people who use services and their carers as well as with organisations that provide these services and their staff. People were given the opportunity via questionnaires, telephone calls, sessions within day services and online meetings, to say what was important to them, what they wanted to do and achieve, where they wanted to do these things and any barriers to doing these. The findings from this engagement have led to the development of a Draft Day Opportunities Strategy and in order to help with the implementation of this we would like to gain your views about the proposals.
I kindly request you support this consultation activity where possible in the following ways so that we can make sure we captured what you told us:
- Review the draft strategy by clicking here
Give your views by completing the online survey - Support the people you are a carer for review the strategy or the easy read version of the strategy [WORD]
Support individuals to give their views by completing the online survey or easy read survey
The closing date is 31th December 2021. Regards Anna Oliver / Senior Commissioning Officer / Adult Social Care & Health

Pharmacy Needs Assessment Survey
The NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG are assisting Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council, who are working together, and produced a short survey to ask for your views regarding pharmacy services in your area. To do a good job, they need to regularly review what services are available, what local people need, and how things might change in the future. This process is called a ‘pharmaceutical needs assessment’ and they are preparing one for each of Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham City Council with the help of a company called Primary Care Commissioning Community Interest Company.
The survey will run from now until Sunday 16th January 2022 and is available via this link https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/P0RWBW/.
Call for Singers with Experience of Dementia Care
The University of Nottingham are looking for singers with experience of dementia care to take part in the first ever performances of Take Care, a new opera by composer Douglas Finch and with words by Cindy Oswin. Take Care will help shine a light on dementia care and the emotional labour of carers. Professional and family carers are both the creative heart of the work and its intended audience.
The opera will première at Lakeside Arts, University of Nottingham on 2 April, 2022. We are looking for 12 singers to take part in the Dementia Carers Chorus. Those selected will need to be available for rehearsals in Nottingham from 21st to 31st March. In addition, there will be 10 hours of pre-production practice. Chorus members will be paid at the hourly wage for home carers.
Whether you are a current or former dementia carer, in a voluntary, professional or family context, apply now to participate by completing the online questionnaire here:
